On March 5, 1948, a
Charter for a new bank in Gibsland, Louisiana
--- Gibsland Bank --- was filed in the Clerk of
Courts office in Bienville Parish, and in April
of 1948, the Bank was officially opened.
Gibsland Bank began operations with $30,000.00
in capital, and since then has grown to serve a
large portion of North Central Louisiana, with
over 115 Million in assets.
The Bank has grown from
two full-time staff members at the 1,000 square
foot building in downtown Gibsland in 1948 to
approximately to 50 full-time staff members at
our 6 locations:
1.
the Main Bank in downtown Gibsland,
2.
a large branch bank in Arcadia,
3.
the Athens Branch which opened in 1997,
4.
our in-store branch bank inside the
Minden Super Wal-Mart which opened in 1999,
5.
the large branch bank located at Homer
Road in Minden which opened in October 2001, and
6.
the Sibley location which opened in
December, 2003.
Full Service Banking is
provided at all six locations. In addition to
traditional banking offered by the bank, we also
provide the following additional services:

Automatic Teller Machines located
at 5 locations.

Bank Credit & Debit Cards.

Internet Banking & Bill Payer
Service.
·
Long-term Mortgage Loans available
from our Mortgage Division.
In 1999, a subsidiary of
the bank, GBT Financial Services, was
established to better serve our customers’
investment and insurance needs. In 2007, GBT
Financial Services has divided into two groups,
GBT Investment Professionals and GBT Insurance
Agency. We continue to grow and add products
and services to meet our customers’ needs.
